Welcome to The Open Door Christian Center's page on the web
In keeping with the mandate scripture for the ODCC, Inc. Matthew 25:35-36 Which states " For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you took me in, I was sick and you came to visit me." (NIV)
The ODCC exist to see those who find themselves in life's tragic situations of homelessness, hopelessness and powerlessness due to addiction, abandonment, job loss or fire, to find power, deliverance, comfort and shelter that can only be found in Jesus Christ. And we use many tools that the Lord gives us to help overcome these situations.
The ODCC is a non-profit, tax exempt 501(c)3, organization supported by the public through monetary and charitable donations. We operate a waste cardboard recovery/recycle program and a thrift store, this allows the ODCC to have some degree of self sufficiency. The thrift store allows us to resale donated items to the public at bargain basement prices, as a ministry in itself, and all proceeds support this ministry.
The cardboard recovery service collects waste cardboard from various businesses throughout Laurens County for resale to a local recycling company. These two operations provide an effective system of recycling in our community as well as to help provide some monetary support to the ODCC to help meet the demands of day to day operations cost. We recycle almost everything from clothes, metal, cardboard, furniture, cars and boats.
These ministries within our ministry teach the residents self-supporting work ethics, structure, responsibility, community involvement, and lends dignity to the resident that comes from working to give back what was so freely given to them.
The Open Door Chapel is on campus for meditation and daily devotion for those who are committed to learning how to live a Christ-centered life where God will be first and foremost. A personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, prayer, and the study of God's word, is the very heart of the program for the residents to begin to live a renewed life. We encourage our residents to find a bible believing, teaching and preaching church of their preference to attend and commit to as part of their support continuum once they graduate the ODCC program. We have services open to the public in the Chapel on Wednesday night at 6:00 pm and Sunday morning at 11:00 am.
The ODCC addictions program is a Christ-centered Celebrate recovery formatted program that believes in the true freedom that can only be found in Jesus Christ, by applying the principles of His word to our everyday lives. Our addictions program utilizes all of the above mentioned avenues to reinforce structure, work ethic, responsibility, and devotion to God, family and community.
We offer a three month program of residential treatment, during which time residents live on campus, attend spiritual addictions group meetings daily, as well as Sunday and Wednesday worship services, to further or begin their walk with the Lord.
Those who feel they need more recovery time may choose from a list of ministries that we network with or decide to extend here at ODCC if approved by the staff. The ODCC is an emergency shelter for men and women with children, and an Alcohol & Drug Rehabilitation facility for men. We have the capacity to house up to 23 men residents and 3 females at present. We also have a transition Home for men that is 9 months in length.
The ODCC is committed to faithful stewardship of that which is entrusted to us. Thru your prayers, charitable donations and financial support, you too can be a vital participant/partner in this ministry. You may send your tax deductible gifts to:
